About Queer Arab Art

Queer Arab Art is a newly-created volunteer-run art space.

Our goal is to showcase Middle Eastern queerness both in our homelands and in the diaspora, fight erasure, and take ownership of the narratives that surround our bodies, experiences, and lives. This is a project geared towards safe self-expression, connectivity, and eradicating the isolation that too many of us have felt and still feel.

We are not exclusively for Arabs or Arabic work (it’s just an easier URL). As a result of colonial boundary-drawing, our homeland has been divided over and over again. We are not interested in those arbitrary lines.

If you identify as Middle Eastern, Arab, North African, SWANA, MENA, Muslim, Miscellaneous Brown, or any related term/identity, know that you are welcome here.

Queer includes trans, especially our trans sisters. TERFs, find somewhere else.

Every single one of us is precious.
